Acquaintances Abroad - The King and His Mission

In the days that followed, nothing else happened anywhere, desert, desert, desert,, sand, sand, sand everywhere, occasionally a withered tuft of grass, and sometimes a boulder. the desert looked very desolate, and it was hard to believe it could change, and this area was no longer uncertain for Gwydion. he was bored, there was sand everywhere, there was sand in his clothes too, and he was sweating and he was always thirsty. So that was the desert of the Orient, but where was the arsonist? it would take a long time to find him, he decided that he didn't find the Orient very beautiful. So it went for the next few days, and it was getting hotter and hotter. It was getting harder to ride, and at some point Gwydion thought he couldn't go on the next morning, but for a few hours full of desert and unease he discovered a little oasis. finally he thought an oasis and showed it to the others, and they saw the oasis too, so it couldn't be a delusion. finally an oasis, said the other Caravanning members, and since the baron had heard the call in his moving office, he looked out and saw the oasis, too, and it was high time, because their water supplies were running low. And they were at the point that the water would only have been enough for a day, and who knows if by then they would have found another oasis.

They replenished their supplies and Gwydion drank some water. After that, they traveled on. Gwydion, who was very happy about the oasis, was fresh again and had changed his mind that he probably couldn't go on tomorrow, he said he could because the oasis had apparently strengthened him.
They continued to travel until they decided to take a break. The camp was built and Gwydion looked hungrily at the supplies, whereupon he took an apple and ate it. Amused, Frederick looked at Gwydion and laughed quietly, went to the storage cart and pulled out an apple. He aimed it at Gwydion and shouted "Here, catch" and threw the apple towards Gwydion with a lot of momentum. Since he could not aim very well, the apple flew past Gwydion with a lot of momentum, and the apple hit the wagon wheel, whereupon Frederick Lachend said: "I hope that the car does not have a wheel off". Gwydion thought the joke was good and laughed too. El habib's servant noticed Frederick's misfortune, he looked at the wheel and found it looked very much like a target, and remembered how Gwydion had tried to shoot the lion with the bow and decided to teach Gwydion and Frederick archery.

El habib's servant started by getting a round board made of soft wood, then he took colors, and first drew a small red circle in the middle of the board. Then he took orange and drew a circle around it, then again he took yellow and enclosed the orange circle with a yellow circle. He did the same with light green, then dark green, and the target was ready. The first thing he wanted to do was to teach aiming to Gwydion and Frederick.
Gwydion and Frederik watched the servant of EL habib and were surprised. It looked like a target, but what did El habib's servant want with a target, they wondered. Then Gwydion remembered his misfortune with the bow.
Probably, El habib's servant wanted to teach them archery, and that was true.
El habib's servant looked for a suitable tree and hung up the target then he said to Gwydion "I remember your misfortune in archery and thought I could teach you". "Ah" Gwydion replied to the servant of EL habib "That would be great" he added "Then we want to start now". First you practice target shooting. This was an exercise where, in contrast to moving targets, you had all the time in the world.

Gwydion wasn't the best at it, but he was quite good. Then he practiced shooting with the bow when you were startled. He wasn't good at that at the beginning. That's why he had to practice a lot. El habibs diener taught the archery so that if Gwydion or Frederick were about to shoot he frightened them and it was really difficult to shoot but at some point he was pretty good at it.
Training continued every evening and Gwydion was getting better at archery and he felt safer and safer in archery. and so the time passed each day until one afternoon they rested again when Gwydion heard a few excited voices in the camp coming from the other side of the mountain. Gwydion looked with curiosity: a sea of tents and flags and between the flags and the tents many many people all dressed in the same clothing camped directly behind the hill. The baron was also on the way there. He stopped with him and told Gwydion that this is the army of the king, “so if necessary we have to join them because the king is my superior. Although we wanted to look for the arson here, maybe the king will come to our favour.  “okay said gwydion let's help the king if necessary i have no problem with it”, then the baron said well but maybe we don't have to help and disappears.

It took a while for the baron to come back and so Gwydion and Frederik went back to the camp. It took a while for the baron to come back but when he was back he said “sorry Gwydion we actually wanted to find the arsonist here but since the king is here we have to help him because he asked for my help with the siege of the capital.”
The rest of the day the king's army was still camping, so the baron had to stay there.
In order to pass the time, Gwydion went to the servant of El habib and asked him to continue the archery training, which the servant did. he also immediately called Frederick, who thought stupid that they always had to wait for each other. Then the servant of El habib decided to make another target, and Frederick decided to make another bow. He had learned that from the servant of El habib. His result on a bow was not quite as good as that of El habib's servant, but Frederick didn't care and the training could begin, continuing to practice the startled shooting. Though El habib's servant kept coming up with new ways to frighten them.

And so they kept practicing. at some point the servant said: “Now you are so good at archery that you are now practicing for the next goal. "And what is that?" asked Frederick and Gwydion "shoot fast" replied the servant of El habib, adding: "you have to shoot in as little time as possible" he added. They practiced this for a while until the baron came excitedly and said: "I forgot completely: We have to move our camp around since we are now helping the king." "Okay," Gwydion and Frederick said to the baron, "we're trying to help." "Fine," said the baron.
Soon everything was packed for the caravan and everyone went to the plot allotted to them. It way was not far, so they soon saw the plot allotted to them. They were lucky because there were two trees in their assigned area, so they could continue their archery. they set up camp again. Frederick's tent, which he shared with Gwydion, was soon pitched. Gwydion and frederick slip into the tent and Gwydion let Obsidian out of his pocket. then he was amazed to see the obsidian about the size of a dog. "Have you grown again?" Gwydion murmured .

Gwydion was exhausted and lay down a bit. he closed his eyes and thought about obsidian, about the past with obsidian and about the future. Maybe Obsidian will be a great powerful fire-breathing dragon. And when he thought of his lizard with his eyes closed, he suddenly saw the tree in front of the tent. He opened his eyes and saw the obsidian peeping out of the tent. then Gwydion hit a thought. could it be that he had seen exactly what Obsidian had seen? could it be that he can always see through obsideans eyes?
So Gwydion spent time with Obsidian and Frederick and time flew by, but soon he forgot about Obsidian, and Obsidian secretly made off. but they didn't notice that they were already too exhausted. when they were awake again, they did not notice it either, but suddenly the baron called to them and said that the king had told them this: that suddenly a great deal of their food had fallen into the fire and was then suddenly missing , and everything that fell into the fire was meat. Then Gwydion noticed that Obsidian was missing and suspected that he had stolen the meat, so he searched for Obsidian with the help of Frederick.

Soon everyone was sleeping soundly, including Gwydion and Frederick. But in the middle of the night Gwydion startled because he thought he had heard a noise. Through the tend door he could see that there was someone trying to sneak away. Gwydion thought, "If you think you can escape unseen, you're on the wrong track." Gwydion followed. but at some point the thief went into a rock cave up to a wall and there the thief went in and was gone. The only explanation Gwydion had was that there was also a portal here. He knew there was no point in following him because he could be anywhere by now. So he decided to go back. When he got to the camp, the guards were not where they should be and the whole camp was awake. Gwydion thought, it was because someone had entered the camp that knocked a guard down. After no one could find Gwydion, the camp was in turmoil. The baron stood outside and said relieved: “There you are, that would answer the question. Where have you been? ” Gwydion said that he had followed the thief. Gwydion thought to himself that he shouldn't tell the baron about the portal. That is why he said that he had lost the thief. He didn't want to tell the baron that because when he told the baron about the dragon, the baron had said he shouldn't say something like that. That's why he didn't want to do it this time. "You say you lost him?" Then Gwydion nodded. "Too bad," said the baron, "then it probably won't make sense to try to follow, I think after this night we deserve more sleep."

On the next morning everyone was well rested and fit. The first conversation between the people in the camp was one between Gwydion and the servant of El Habib: "Is it normal here that there are so many criminals?" "Aem so yes," replied the servant of El habib, "then El habib intervened:" well, "he said," it is a bit tricky here, but it doesn't matter, we just struggle through it. " Again El habib's servant interfered: "I think we shouldn't take it too roughly, I think it is better if I show you how to make a bow."

“So,” he said, “for a bow, we first take flexible wood, then some string, a pointed stone, then we cut holes in the stick, then we bend the stick and then we knot the string in the holes firmly when the stick is bent. The bow is finished.
"Oh thanks," said Gwydion, "Now we can at least defend ourselves a little."

The next night Gwydion woke up again, but the sound didn't sound like a burglar, so he didn't get up. The sound sounded something like a squeak followed by a beep, and again he heard a hiss followed by a snarl.

At breakfast the next day, everyone noticed that sometimes things were missing and gwydion knew why, because he could see that obsidian sometimes stole something. and because obsidian was not always inconspicuous enough, somebody else saw how obsidian stole something and breathed on it. But when Obsidian breathed, no ordinary air came out of his mouth, but a burst of fire. “Help” the man who was watching Obsidian called “The lizard is a dragon”, the baron heard that too and said “Someone said that but slowly I'm thinking about whether I should be surprised”
Everyone at the table agreed. When everyone had strengthened, the baron said: “Now let's travel on so that we can always stay on the verse of the thief, overtake him at some point and then catch him. In any case, it would be annoying if he got away from us, so we should go on. and then the caravan did it, firstly because they had to obey him and secondly because they were of the same opinion as him. They packed everything from the camp, whereupon the baron said: "well" to Gwydion and a few other helpers, "check if we have forgotten anything and if so bring everything to me and if possible blur all traces we have made . ” "Okay" said Gwydion, but suddenly something tickled his neck and Frederick stood laughing behind him with a palm frond and said: "I think I have something to cover traces" "Yes" said Gwydion "we can use it for that" In this opinion, all the other campers agreed and so everyone got down to work.

With the help of Frederick and the other helpers, Gwydion found a lot of things they had lost, and with the palm frond, they were able to cover their tracks. While they noticed that one palm frond would never be enough, they had to look for new ones. This was not so difficult, however, because there were palm trees all around and, after everything the caravan had forgotten, everyone grabbed a frond and brushed across the sand and helped to cover up the traces the caravan had made. And soon the last footprint was blurred.
"Good!" the baron said when he saw what they were doing, "thanks for the compliment," said the others. "So, now let's go on, otherwise the guy is really going to escape us." "So be it" replied all caravan members. "Good," said the baron, "since we agree, we can go". Everyone agreed with him. "If that's the case then go on". And so it went on with the caravan.
Over the next few days, the baron set up an office in one of the wagons. Then he could discuss things in peace and study the map. And since he often studied the map rather than discussing things, he soon had a serious reason to discuss something. As they approached the mountain. And he wanted to discuss that with Gwydion and Frederick. "How should we overcome this mountain?" He asked Gwydion and Frederik when they were in the baron's office.
"Well," said Frederick and Gwydion at the same time, and puzzled because the mountain was so that the way over was as long as the way around it. "Well," said the baron, "the only difference is that around the mountain there is a chance that we will end up in a swamp, but the way over it is more difficult". "Hm," said Gwydion. “The way over the mountain is difficult and the way around it has a swamp. It is difficult to get out of a swamp, I think the way over the mountain is better. What do you all mean". "I honestly believe that the way over the mountain is better," said Frederick. “The way over the mountain also seems to me to be the better option”. The baron replied, "so we'll do it that way." And so it was decided that they would take the way over the mountain.

Nothing exciting happened in the next few days and the caravaners got bored until the coachman called to the baron, "over or around the mountain?" The baron stuck his head out of his office and said, "Above" "Yes," the coachman replied, "and steered the horses up the mountain. Gwydion, Frederick, and a few knights and other caravan members followed the baron's moving office up the mountain.
Gwydion always had obsidian in a saddlebag on the horse, so he actually had him with him during the whole trip, only when they rested did he take obsidian in a pocket.
The mountain was big, so it took a while for the cart to be on the mountain, let alone descend on the other side. The road really seemed very long and daunting to everyone. The road was also monotonous and the horses seemed to be going limp at any moment, and as I said, the mountain was still long. It seemed very hopeless, but suddenly Gwydion heard a crack, but since he had heard a crack so often, he believed that he had hallucinations, so he ignored the cracking. But suddenly he saw something orange in the bushes. At first he thought that someone had forgotten an orange in the bushes, but then he was startled: Who should forget an orange in the middle of the desert, so he looked back at the bushes and what he saw: one eye. Slowly he was sure that what he saw was not thrown away because the eye looked back and forth and then a second one appeared. That was enough for Gwydion. He shouted "stop" "a lion is sitting in the bushes" and tore his bow off his shoulder, which he made with El habib's servant the day after the night that a burglar was there, whereupon he got an arrow and put him on the bow. He pulled the bow, aimed, and yet when he was about to fire, the lion jumped out of the bushes and startled Gwydion so that he dropped the arrow and couldn't draw a new one, so he had a problem. But suddenly Obsidian hissed out of his pocket and startled the lion so that he forgot to attack for a moment. Obsidian used this moment to jump on the lion's head. Unfortunately the lion was not frozen forever, which is why he got his composure again and pounced for obsidian. But Obsidean was nimble like a weasel and when the lion tried to flung his paw at him, obsidian was already gone, which is why the claw of the lion struck directly into the lion, who backed away painfully, but immediately clenched his claws and continued with his fight against obsidian. He felt something touch his stomach, but when he was about to pad out, which would not have been a good idea for him, he already felt obsidian on his back. He wanted to hit there, but when his claw reached the back, obsidian was already gone and again the lion hit his sharp claw into his own flesh. A little swaying and raging with anger, the lion rose to new strength and when he felt obsidian on the tail, he slapped his claws in place. Again he dropped to his knees, but obsidian remained unharmed. With all his strength he got up and when he felt Obsidian on his ear he tried to reach for Obsidian, but it had taken all his strength to get up, so he couldn't do it, whereupon Obsidian let out a breath of fire and dashed back into Gwydion's pocket. The lion was scared to death, jumped up and dashed off as fast as his lion's legs carried him and Obsidian looked out of his pocket and squeaked amused. Not only Gwydion and the baron, who had come out of his now no longer moving office, laughed, no, the other caravaners laughed at the running lion. "I don't think we'll see him again very soon," said the baron, "I think we can go on now." Everyone agreed, so the knights and other people mounted their horses and the baron got into his now again moving office and the train continued. The rest of the day nothing happened except that Gwydion noticed that there was a lion's claw in obsidian, which Gwydion carefully pulled out of obsidian and showed to the baron. The baron said after the trip he could get the claw tied into a chain that Gwydion could carry. Gwydion thought that was a good idea and put the claw in his pocket.

New friends and a trace (El Habib and his servant)

When she went on board, the whole city shone in her radiance towards them. "Oh wonderful the Orient," said the baron. When they were walking through the streets, Frederik suddenly held Gwydion “Look,” he said to Gwydion “Isn't that great” and really on a sales stand of a market stall there was a box that had a wheel that was turning and inside the wheel was another wheel and a third one in the middle of them.

The baron then said "I have to run a few errands you can have a look around". "Okay," said Frederick, "I'm still looking at these things." "Okay replied the baron  then the saleswoman said," They are music boxes who are you "" I am Frederick the son of the baron from our kingdom ". "Aha said the trader for noble people I have a very special music box." said the saleswoman, taking out a box from under the counter and placing it on the counter. and turned on a wheel when patterns began to form frederick looked enchanted at the music box and said "we have to buy it, that would be so great". But suddenly a stick swept the music box off the table, and a voice said, "I hardly think that you would enjoy the music box so much". and pointed to the shards on which a scorpion was climbing. which was then hit on the scorpion and said. “And now to you,” he said and wanted to turn to the music box seller, but she was no longer there. "She must have vanished in thin air," said Frederick, I hope she won't try again. "Me too" said the unknown savior. "Who are you anyway" he asked "i am frederick the son of our baron" replied Frederick and "i am gwydion" said gwydion "his friend" "and what are you looking for" asked the unknown "so" said gwydion "that is quickly told I was at the market at home and when I came back my house and my parents were gone and the embers of my house was an egg. the heat of the embers hatched the egg and this came out, ”said Gwydion and showed the lizard and asked“ do you know such a thing and the man replied “yes I know that is a baby dragon ”really asked Gwydion how do you know that “ from legends ”answered the unknown and how can I call you asked Frederick and Gwydion I am the servant of El habib” the man said“ and who is this El habib please ”asked Frederick“ that's me ”said a powerful voice behind him“ I am the best wrestlers all over orient ”OK” said Frederick.
"What does OK mean ?" Asked El habib, to which frederick replied: "This is an expression to take note of something," "OK," replied El habib.
So el habib Gwydion and frederick talked until the baron came back and said: "Who are you talking to?" the answer he got was: "this is El habib and his servant." “So” said the dinner from El habib “we are not here by accident, we are after crooks and  it looks like you have enemies here and therefore it might be useful for you if we were to accompany you, we are also very knowledgeable of the area ”“ hm that sounds tempting ”said the baron I will accept you offer” “Okay let's go” said the servant of El habib
And then they did. somehow the sun didn't want to stop shining, but eventually it got a little bit darker. the shadows grew longer, which gwydion also noticed. it seemed to be 5 o'clock in the evening, but it was hardly dark. "I think we should have a rest soon." said the servant. Everyone else agreed, so El habib's servant said that he knew of a suitable place. And he was right, because a little later they saw a suitable place in front of them. "I think we can rest here." said the Servant of El habib. Since the baron had no objections, he said that it is a good idea to rest here ”and it was decided that they would spend their night here.

It took a while to open the camp, but since Gwydion didn't just want to sit around, he went for a walk, a little back and forth. the baron's guards were already up, but something **** in the bushes in the distance. but when he looked inside it was empty, so he thought that maybe he was wrong.
When the camp was finally set up and they were all around the campfire and grilling food, the baron said that one had to be careful here because there are rhinos and dangerous antelopes, but Gwydion thought that there was neither a rhino nor had he seen dangerous antelopes, but then he remembered that they were hardly in the desert and that everything could still come, so he did not want to meet any of these animals, neither rhinos nor dangerous antelopes.

Soon the last sparks of the campfire were extinguished and everyone wanted to go to bed, only Gwydion wanted to look at the stars again for the last time today. He looked bedazzled into the stars and said "beautiful and strange", when Frederick joined him and said "the Orient. Parts of the orient undiscovered, beautiful such a star-bearing night in the unknown ”. But every romantic moment is over at some point, so Frederick said "let's go to sleep". Gwydion agreed, so they went to sleep, both in a tent.

Departure into the unknown (the journey and arrival in the Orient, land of deserts and oases)

Except for the remark that someone had put on the wrong boots, nothing happened on Saturday. Just like on Sunday, but then Gwydion got scared. What if there is trouble with boar hunting? The next day, Monday, a messenger came who said; "Are you Gwydion?"
"Yes!" said Gwydion.
"Very good, the baron would like to speak to you."
“O no” thought, Gwydion what if he found out that we rode into the forest without permission, that we chased a boar, that our ponies almost ran away and that we were the ones behind the shoes.

With a queasy feeling he went down the stairs. He met Frederick on the way, who apparently had the same destination. "So?" asked Gwydion Frederick "are you on your way to meet the baron too?" "Yes" replied Frederick. "Okay," said Gwydion, "let's go together.
"I hope it is not because of the boots," said Frederick. "I hope that it is generally not because of the boar hunt because we were in the forest without asking."
He paused for a moment. "And also because we hunted a boar and because out ponies almost ran away."
"Yes," Frederick replied, "I hope so too that he didn't notice."

When Frederick and Gwydion arrived in the main hall where they had agreed to meet, the baron was already waiting for them and said "Gwydion Frederick I have to talk to you." Then Gwydion noticed how a bad feeling spread in his stomach until the baron said: “Gwydion you remember that I had promised to investigate the attack on your house. One of my confidants has followed traces of an oasis in the far East and I know from others that it was a gang looking for artifacts. ”Fredrick was also reassured after these words. "Time is short, we should start today before the trail gets cold." said the baron.

Gwydion was greatly relieved, because he had not thought that they would investigate the matter so soon. A few minutes later, the travel arrangements were in full swing; first the people who were to come with them were chosen: the baron as head of the expedition, Gwydion, because he also wanted to know why the house was burned down, Frederick because Frederick and Gwydion were best friends, the weapons master for training and knights for protection, as well as servants as cooks and to help out with cleaning other things.

When everything was ready for the expedition, they set off. Gwydion could no longer follow his life. At first he was at home, but as soon as he was back from the market, he no longer had a house. Then he found shelter at the bakery, but as soon as he got used to it, he was already living at the barons place. Now he had got used to a new life again, and he was about to embark on a journey into the unknown on his own pony. He was responsible for the pony. He looked quizzically at frederick, who apparently didn't feel so uncomfortable. A look back showed the shrinking castle, with its towers and walls promising safety. “But now I have friends to help me”, Gwydion thought, and bravely turned to the adventure.

The group traveled east for a few days until they arrived in the Port city of Waterbourg in the evening evening. A little later, the baron went to a tavern with Gwydion and Frederick and ordered three wines. When the wine was brought up, the baron said, "Actually, you shouldn't, but I will spend a round to celebrate the day."

Gwydion found this very generous and felt a nice feeling of belonging, and went to bed gladly because the next day he had to get out very early so that he would not miss the ship.
The next morning, Gwydion went on the ship, well rested. He also had a headache. His skull boomed as he ran up the planks onto the ship. A little later they took off. His luggage was heavy, so he wanted to quickly stow his luggage in his closet. On the way to his cabin he noticed ship workers everywhere. When he had stowed his things in the cabin he longed for the sunny dec, he also wanted to watch the workers because the stuffy air in the cabin did not help his headache, rather on the contrary.

The ship sailed and sailed for a long time and Gwydion and Frederick no longer knew how long the trip took. It got hotter every day. Since Gwydion and Frederick got bored at some point, they helped the ship workers. Since it was a very strenuous work, they also put on muscles. You could have mistaken the two for apes. Gwydion's headache was long gone. Firstly because it was so long ago and secondly because he spent most of the time on the deck in the fresh air. That's why life didn't get monotonous. They sailed day and night until the man in the lookout called “land in sight”. "Really?" Shouted everyone on the ship. "Yes!" answered the lookout. Cheers broke out on the ship: “We have reached our destination”. The baron came out of his room below. “So I Frederick and Gwydion go ashore and the servants come with me. The ship's crew stays here and takes care of the ship, because who knows what will happen if nobody looks after the ship. “Ai ai” replied the whole crew, “we take care of the ship”. In the meantime the baron organized everything, the ship entered the harbor and the workers moored the ship. Everyone left the ship except the one that was supposed to stay on deck to watch the ship.

A day later was the announced aquire training. The first disciplin to practice was math, which was easy for Gwydion, because he had practice from the day of the market. to study, they went to the school rooms where the tutor taught. He also taught history, which was also one of the squires’ disciplines. This was also practiced on the school premises with the same teacher. From the second day on there was also riding: riding was an activity in which you sat in the saddle for several hours every day, because you had to learn to guide your horse with only one hand if you later wanted to carry a lance or a sword in combat . For riding they went to the paddock. Fencing came next. The boys learned to block and parry while fencing using wooden swords.
Whatever discipline there was boxing, archery again, and the responsibility for a pony as well as the responsibility for equipment to carry a small sword and bow.

Boar hunt

In the morning, which was a few days after completing the training, frederick said to Gwydion: "We could hunt boar today." the squire training had taken three months. They were mostly done with the basics and had some free time.

When Gwydion and Frederick had finished eating, they packed everything they wanted to take with them for boar hunting. They put on armor, sword, arrow and bow. They also packed a drink, a sleeping bag, a rope to tie the boar to the pony. What they couldn't carry, they put in bags that they tied to ponies. When the bags were attached to the ponies and you had everything with you, they mounted their  ponies and rode through the main gate.

When they got to the forest frederick whispered “stop,” “okay” he got as an answer from Gwydion. Gwydion and Frederick slide simultaneously and silently from their horses. Whereupon Frederick made a sound that was supposed to imitate a boar, but in Gwydion's ears it sounded like pulling his nose up. and since the sound did not really sound like a boar, frederik was also unsuccessful. even if a boar came, but not in the hoped-for way. because the boar jumped out of the bushes they were standing in front of, they jumped backwards out of horror, but the boar took up the chase. then frederick had an idea. he called to Gwydion, "are you dealing with the boar I have an idea".

Gwydion obeyed Frederick's call and ran away from the boar all the time, while Frederick went to the horses and took the rope they actually had to tie the boar. he lassoed the rope. He scored on the boar and swung the lasso. he threw the lasso, and hit dead on. the lasso hit the boar but unfortunately not on the head but on the body. Frederick was able to withstood the boar 's pulling but since he could not do that for long he tied his end to a tree. To his bad luck the tree was next to the water, and since Gwydion had not noticed that the boar could not follow him, Gwydion thought that he had to flee further. He ran around the pool but the rope was in the way. Unfortunately Gwydion still had so much momentum and could no longer brake. Frederick immediately hurried over as fast as he could, but it was too late. Gwydion stumbled over the rope and since frederick was very close to Gwydion he couldn't hold himself and stumbled afterwards. Both ended up in the pond. Since Frederick had left too little rope on either side of the lasos, he had just enough time to see how the lasso opened and the boar cleared the dust. Gwydion appeared a few seconds later. Gwydion had a pair of shoes on his head. They climb out of the pond. They took the rope with them, looked again to hope to see the boar again, but it was in vain. They loaded up their ponies and rode to the castle. They tried to get into the castle unnoticed. they didn't look like successful boar hunters, trenched as they were. they put the shoes they found on top of the others. the rest of the day nothing else happened except that a sudden scream came from the castle courtyard, but as it turned out it was only someone who had put on the found shoes due to an error and wondered why his shoes stank oddly.
